Injured fox that attacked pet in Warren County town located and will be tested

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — A fox that reportedly attacked a pet and entered a resident’s garage in Greenwich Township on Monday afternoon has been located and will be tested for rabies, according to police.

Authorities issued a warning earlier in the day after the fox was last seen in the area of Hamilton Drive. Police said the animal appeared injured and was limping after the attack.

Residents were urged not to approach the fox and to call 911 if it was spotted.

As of 6:48 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, police confirmed the fox had been found and secured. It will undergo testing to determine whether it was rabid.
