Injured hiker rescued from Wickecheoke Creek in Hunterdon County
DELAWARE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — An injured hiker was rescued from Wickecheoke Creek in Delaware Township on Saturday afternoon with the assistance of multiple emergency responders.
According to the Delaware Township Fire Company, firefighters were requested by the Delaware Township Police Department to assist basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) crews with removing the injured hiker from the creek.
Firefighters used a Stokes basket and a rope system to remove the patient from the creek.
The response included the fire company’s Gator, Brush and Rescue Engine, along with both fire chiefs.
The Delaware Township Police Department and Lambertville Rescue Squad also assisted at the scene.
No additional information about the hiker or the extent of the injuries was immediately available.
