Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics NJ charges through Warren County (PHOTOS)

WARREN COUNTY, NJ – Police officers from Hackettstown, Mansfield Township, Blairstown Township, Washington Township (Morris County), Warren County Sheriff’s Office and New Jersey State Police came together to start one of two routes in Warren County for the NJ Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Another route started in Greenwich Township and both groups met at Route 31 and Route 57 in Washington Township (Warren County).

Hackettstown Middle School students and staff lined Main Street to cheer on the runners.

The annual Torch Run on Friday, benefiting the Special Olympics New Jersey Summer Games, involved more than 3,000 officers running separate routes around the state.

Athletes will compete in the summer games, which include athletics (track & field), bocce, gymnastics, powerlifting, softball, swimming, and tennis.

The games begin Friday and last the weekend at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in Ewing Township.
