Man accused of stealing auto parts in Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Hudson County man has been accused of stealing auto parts in Mount Olive Township.

On March 30, at around 6:30 p.m., police responded to 20 Continental Drive after receiving a report of a theft. The property owner told authorities he observed a maroon GMC pickup truck parked on his property with two males loading auto parts into the truck’s bed. The truck fled the scene before police arrived, authorities said.

Through the investigation, one of the suspects was identified as 63-year-old Leon Bradley of Jersey City. Police made contact with Bradley by phone and arranged for him to come into the police headquarters, authorities said.

On March 31, at 6:08 p.m., Bradley arrived at police headquarters and, after further investigation, was arrested without incident. He was charged with theft of movable property, defiant trespass, criminal mischief, and conspiracy. Bradley was released pending a court appearance, police said.

The investigation into the second suspect is ongoing.
