Man arrested for stealing from a scrap yard in Sussex County

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A Hunterdon County man is accused of stealing from a scrap yard in Byram Township.

Raimos Scrap Iron & Metal reported to the Byram Township police that they had video surveillance of an individual breaking into and stealing from their scrapyard on Dec. 13, 2023 and June 3, 2024.

During the investigation, detectives along with officers conducted numerous surveillance techniques and recovered numerous articles of evidence, police said.

On July 2, detectives learned that the alleged suspect, who was identified as Anthony C. Roselle, 39, of Whitehouse Station, had been arrested by the Readington Township police for theft and lodged in the Warren County Jail, police said.

Detectives charged Roselle on July 8 at the Warren County Correctional Facility, police said.

Roselle was charged with third-degree theft, third-burglary, and third-degree criminal conspiracy for the Dec. 13 incident. He was charged with third-degree theft and third-degree burglary for the June 3 incident.

Roselle is scheduled to appear in Sussex County Superior Court on July 24.
