Man charged after pepper spray assault at Morris County McDonald’s

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Morristown man was arrested after allegedly pepper spraying another man at a McDonald’s on Ridgedale Avenue in Hanover Township, police said.

Authorities said patrols responded to the fast-food restaurant on Aug. 22 after reports of an assault. According to the investigation, Justin Kennedy, 26, was verbally abusive to a female employee when a witness intervened. As both men were leaving the restaurant, Kennedy allegedly turned and sprayed the victim in the face with pepper spray.

Kennedy was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, disorderly conduct, and multiple traffic violations. He was later released pending a court appearance.
