Man charged after reported assault at Morris County residence

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Budd Lake man was charged with simple assault following a reported fight Saturday morning at a residence in Budd Lake, according to police.

Mount Olive police responded to the residence at approximately 9:32 a.m. for a report of a fight in progress.

Authorities said responding officers located a male victim suffering from bruising and bleeding to the face and nose.

Police identified the alleged aggressor as Majornaim Furby, 25, of Budd Lake, who was visiting the residence at the time of the incident.

During the investigation, officers discovered Furby also had an active $2,000 arrest warrant issued out of Newark, according to police.

Furby was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with simple assault.

Authorities said he was later released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.
