Man charged with impersonating law enforcement officer, harassment at Morris County Starbucks

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Rockaway Township man has been charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and harassment following an incident at a Starbucks in Denville Township, police said.

Roger H. Walker, 57, of Rockaway Township, was issued a summons after a Nov. 30 incident at the Starbucks located at 28 W. Main St., according to police.

Police said officers responded to the business at about 10:40 a.m. after receiving a report of a man allegedly using his cellphone to record and photograph juvenile females inside the store.

An investigation determined that the man, later identified as Walker, allegedly falsely identified himself as a law enforcement officer and displayed what he claimed was a badge, police said. Several witnesses reported hearing Walker make the statements, authorities said.

As a result of the investigation, Walker was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and harassment. He was released on a summons and is scheduled to appear in Morris County Superior Court.
