
FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – A 33-year-old man is facing multiple charges following incidents at his Franklin Borough home.
On the evening of Aug. 7, police responded to a dispute at Andrew G. Brookins’ Main Street home. Brookins was arrested and charged with simple assault. Additionally, he was found to have an outstanding criminal warrant issued by the Franklin Borough Municipal Court, police said.
Brookins was then lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility, police said.
The following morning, on Aug. 8, Brookins was reported to have been in possession of a handgun with a prohibited magazine capacity the previous evening. After an investigation, Brookins was charged with fourth-degree possession of prohibited devices and served with a new complaint warrant at the Morris County Correctional Facility, police said.
Then on Aug. 9, after being released from the Morris County Correctional Facility, Brookins returned to his residence, violating an active order of protection that barred him from the property, police said.
Brookins was located at the residence and arrested for fourth-degree contempt of a judicial protection order. He was again lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility, pending his appearance in Sussex County Superior Court, police said.
