Man’s leg crushed by commercial chiller in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A man’s leg was crushed by a commercial chiller in Readington Township Thursday morning.

Police responded to a commercial accident on Route 202 at 11:28 a.m. following a 911 call reporting a serious leg injury, authorities said.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that a 52-year-old man had suffered a crushed leg due to the commercial chiller, resulting in uncontrollable bleeding, police said.

Officers quickly applied a tourniquet to help control the bleeding before transferring care to the Whitehouse Rescue Squad and paramedics from Hunterdon Medical Center, police said.

The injured man was transported to an area trauma center for treatment of his injuries, police said.
