Marcade Family Fun Center at Rockaway mall temporarily closed after flooding damages arcade

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Marcade Family Fun Center at the Rockaway mall is temporarily closed after overnight flooding damaged a dozen or more arcade games and caused portions of the ceiling to collapse, according to the business.

Marcade announced the closure Monday, Aug. 31, saying a food court shop left water running throughout Sunday night, causing an estimated 200 to 300 gallons of water to flood the lower level, beginning in the arcade’s space.

“A food court shop left the water on all night Sunday and it flooded the lower floor starting in our space. Some games were ruined and parts of the ceiling collapsed,” Marcade Family Fun Center said.

The business said a dozen or more games were “trashed” as a result of the flooding.

Marcade did not provide an estimated reopening date.

“I will let everyone know when we are back in operation,” the business said.

Marcade Family Fun Center is located at the Rockaway mall, 301 Mount Hope Ave. in Rockaway Township.
