Morris County Hope Hub program receives state policing award
MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — The Morris County Sheriff’s Office Hope Hub Program received the Outstanding Community Partnership Award during the 2026 Excellence in Policing Awards ceremony hosted by Attorney General Jennifer Davenport.
The annual awards recognize law enforcement officers, agencies and community partners across New Jersey for service, innovation and commitment to public safety. Davenport also announced recipients of the 2026 Law Enforcement Wellness and Resiliency Grant Program during the ceremony.
According to officials, the Hope Hub Program was launched in March 2021 as a multidisciplinary initiative connecting law enforcement, mental health providers and healthcare professionals to support families considered at elevated risk.
The program includes more than 80 partner organizations and agencies and is coordinated by Morris County Sheriff’s Officer Corporal Chelsea Whiting.
Officials said Hope Hub uses proactive outreach to connect individuals and families with tailored services and resources.
Since its creation, the program has managed more than 840 complex cases and achieved a 97% overall risk reduction rate, including a reported 100% achieved metric in 2025.
“Hope Hub is making a meaningful difference in the lives of so many. Through our 83 partnerships, the program provides access to vital services while letting those in need know that someone is here who truly cares about them and their situation,” Whiting said. “For many, this is the first step toward a better life. I am proud and grateful that our program has been recognized by the New Jersey State Attorney General’s Office for the positive impact it is having in Morris County, in reducing crime, and in improving the lives of individuals. The work will continue, and I look forward to seeing many more successful outcomes in the future.”
Sheriff James M. Gannon also expressed appreciation for the recognition and said the Sheriff’s Office remains committed to continuing the Hope Hub and Hope One initiatives.
Officials said the program reflects a collaborative effort to provide compassionate and targeted support to individuals and families in need throughout Morris County.
