MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center has been recognized as a top-performing pediatric hospital in the 2026 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Ranking by Vizient.
Morristown Medical Center ranked fourth among eight top performers in the pediatric hospital cohort, which included 89 hospitals. The recognition is based on the annual Vizient Quality and Accountability Study, which evaluates hospitals on the quality of patient care.
Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital is located on the Morristown Medical Center campus and includes more than 250 community pediatricians and more than 100 board-certified pediatric specialists.

This year, 1,346 participating hospitals were divided into seven cohorts for the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study.
The study measures patient care performance across six areas: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centeredness and variation in care. It uses measures from the Vizient Clinical Data Base and includes performance data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Healthcare Safety Network.
The study is designed to help participating hospitals and health systems compare their performance with peers and identify structures and processes associated with high performance in quality and safety across patient care.
The 2026 recognition was based on work spanning July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
