Morristown Medical Center unveils Hersh Fetal Center
MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) – Women with high-risk pregnancies will now have vital access, in one location, to the wide array of experts that may be necessary to care for themselves and their babies.
Atlantic Health System’s Morristown Medical Center is excited to announce the grand opening of the Hersh Fetal Center (HFC), the only comprehensive fetal center in New Jersey.
The state-of-the-art facility was recently celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring hospital leaders, physicians, team members, donors and community members. Building upon a program first established in 2011, the newly renamed and expanded center offers families more specialized, individualized and convenient care for conditions that occur from conception through delivery and seamless connection to the rest of Atlantic Health System for any future needs.
Located at 55 Madison Avenue in Morristown, the Hersh Fetal Center brings maternal fetal medicine patient care to the next level of excellence. The center is designed to make it easy and convenient for families to receive all their care in one location and ideally, during one appointment. Patients have access to free parking, and the center is located near hotels, public transportation and Morristown’s robust downtown area.
“The highly specialized and world-class quality of care offered to parents and their children at the Hersh Fetal Center continues Morristown Medical Center’s tradition of providing extraordinary patient experiences,” said Trish O’Keefe, PhD, RN, President, Morristown Medical Center. “On behalf of our entire team, I share our most appreciative thanks to the Dorothy B. Hersh Foundation for its generous and tireless support of the service we provide to our growing families.”
The new center will centralize patient care services, expand diagnostic capabilities, increase team member support and create a welcoming and comforting patient care environment. This comprehensive resource is for pregnant women whose babies have congenital anomalies or other fetal complications and provides access to multidisciplinary care by clinical experts whose sole focus is to keep both mother and baby healthy before, during and after birth.
The Hersh Fetal Center was made possible thanks to a $2.5 million grant from the Dorothy B. Hersh Foundation. Established in 1979, the Dorothy B. Hersh Foundation provides grants for capital expenditures benefitting the needs of children throughout New Jersey and has supported crucial pediatric needs at both Morristown Medical Center and Atlantic Health’s Overlook Medical Center for more than a decade.
