Mosquito control treatments scheduled Aug. 13 in 3 Morris County towns

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — County mosquito control crews plan to treat several areas in Montville Township, Roxbury Township, and Jefferson Township on Wednesday, Aug. 13, in response to increased adult mosquito populations.

Weather permitting, treatments in wooded areas and surrounding properties will be conducted by all-terrain vehicle between 4 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. at Horseneck Road in Montville, including Community Park and the amphitheater, and Orben Trail in Roxbury.

Later that evening, between 9 p.m. and midnight, crews will treat streets in the area of Weldon Road at Camp Jefferson in Jefferson using a truck-mounted sprayer.

Officials said the applications will use either Anvil 2+2, with active ingredient Sumithrin (EPA #1021-1687-8329), or Zenivex E4, with active ingredient Etofenprox (EPA #2724-807). The work will be conducted under Pesticide Applicator License Number 20262B.
