Motorcyclist airlifted after Route 23 crash in Sussex County, state police say

MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — A motorcyclist was airlifted to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a crash Saturday evening on Route 23 South in Montague Township, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.

Troopers responded to the single-vehicle crash at 8:19 p.m. near milepost 49, where a Harley-Davidson motorcycle reportedly lost directional control, veered off the roadway, and struck a wooded area.

The motorcyclist was flown to a nearby hospital. Their identity has not been released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No further details were immediately available.
