Motorcyclist charged after fleeing police in Mount Olive
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A motorcyclist was arrested and charged after allegedly fleeing from police at a high rate of speed in Mount Olive Township, authorities said.
The incident occurred April 27 at about 12:24 p.m. when an officer on routine patrol observed a motorcycle speeding on Wolfe Road, according to police.
When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver allegedly passed stopped vehicles at the intersection of Wolfe Road and Flanders-Drakestown Road and continued at a high rate of speed, police said.
Authorities did not pursue the motorcycle. Instead, officers determined the vehicle’s registration was linked to a residence in Chester and notified Chester police.
Chester officers later intercepted the motorcycle within their jurisdiction and took the driver into custody, police said.
The rider, Brian C. Krumm, 31, of Chester, was charged with eluding police, reckless driving, speeding, careless driving, improper passing, failure to maintain lane, failure to yield to emergency vehicles and failure to keep right.
He was transported to the Chester Police Department and later lodged at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing.
