
Motorcyclist seriously injured after crash involving SUV and tractor-trailer on I-80 in Morris County
ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) – A 21-year-old Denville Township man was seriously injured Friday after the motorcycle he was riding crashed on Interstate 80 in Rockaway Township, according to New Jersey State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at about 5:19 p.m. Friday on I-80 westbound at milepost 34.6, NJSP spokesman Tpr. II Christopher Postorino said.
According to a preliminary investigation, Thomas P. Ryerson was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on I-80 when he lost directional control and overturned.
The motorcycle continued forward and struck a Honda SUV and a Freightliner tractor-trailer, police said.
Ryerson was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
No other injuries were reported at the scene.
The crash remained under investigation, and no additional information was available.
