Motorcyclist seriously injured in I-78 crash in Somerset County

BEDMINSTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Somerset County) — A New York man sustained serious injuries Sunday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with the rear of a passenger vehicle on Interstate 78 in Somerset County, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded at 3:22 p.m. to the crash on I-78 eastbound at milepost 28.1 in Bedminster Township.

According to a preliminary investigation, Leron E. Grayson, 30, of Middletown, New York, was operating a BMW motorcycle when the front of the motorcycle struck the rear of a Toyota passenger vehicle.

State police said the motorcycle overturned, ejecting Grayson.

Grayson sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was available.
