NJ Clean Communities Council launches ‘Litter Rock Star’ slogan contest for local leaders
TRENTON, N.J. — Municipal leaders across New Jersey are being called on to channel their creativity and civic pride by entering the New Jersey Clean Communities Council’s (NJCCC) “Litter Rock Star” slogan contest.
The contest, which is open through Thursday, Aug. 21, invites mayors and other local officials to submit original slogans that promote litter prevention with a rock star twist. The winning entries will be revealed at NJCCC’s 20th-anniversary Awards and Expo on Oct. 8 in Somerset.
“This contest is a unique opportunity for municipal leaders to showcase their town or county’s creative commitment to litter prevention and inspire residents to take action,” said NJCCC Executive Director JoAnn Gemenden. “We encourage mayors and other local officials to lead by example. Help us elevate your community as a true ‘Litter Rock Star’ and champion clean streets and parks across New Jersey.”
With this year’s theme, “Be a Litter Rock Star,” NJCCC is seeking memorable slogans that reflect local governments’ dedication to keeping streets, waterways, and public spaces clean. The campaign encourages officials to craft catchy, motivational phrases that make litter prevention a shared community goal.
To participate, leaders must submit their slogans online by Aug. 21. Entries can be submitted at njclean.org, where additional contest information is available.
Finalists and winners will be honored at NJCCC’s annual awards ceremony, where one community will be celebrated as the ultimate “Litter Rock Star.”
