NJ TRANSIT to relaunch FLEXPASS discounted ticket option Feb. 15
NEW JERSEY — NJ TRANSIT will relaunch its FLEXPASS ticket option Feb. 15, restoring a discounted multi-ride program aimed at riders with hybrid or variable work schedules.
The FLEXPASS allows customers to purchase 20 one-way tickets at a 15% discount and use them within 30 calendar days of purchase. The tickets are valid on bus, rail and light rail services.
FLEXPASS was originally introduced in 2021 as a pilot program in response to shifting commuting patterns during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The agency said it is bringing back the option following customer feedback.
“We are pleased to bring back FLEXPASS, one of our most popular ticketing options,” said NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kris Kolluri. “We listened to our customers when they said they wanted more flexible options to match their travel needs, and FLEXPASS provides that flexibility combined with significant savings for commuters.”
Customers may purchase a FLEXPASS at any time of the month through the NJ TRANSIT mobile app, ticket vending machines or ticket offices. When purchased in the mobile app, the 20 one-way tickets are deposited into the customer’s account and can be activated like standard one-way tickets.
Each FLEXPASS expires 30 calendar days after purchase. The expiration period cannot be paused, and unused tickets will expire at the end of that period. Sales are nonrefundable.
Customers may buy and own only one FLEXPASS per mode of transportation at a time. A new FLEXPASS may be purchased after all 20 tickets have been used or once the 30-day period has expired.
