NJMVC facilities to close on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day

NEW JERSEY — All New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission facilities will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, the agency announced.

According to the NJMVC, all agencies, road test sites and inspection stations will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025 (Christmas Day), and Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026 (New Year’s Day). Facilities will operate under normal business hours during the remainder of the holiday season.

While in-person services will not be available on those holidays, the commission noted that its website, NJMVC.gov, remains accessible 24 hours a day. Customers can complete more than 25 transactions online, including driver’s license and vehicle registration renewals and replacements, address changes, fee and surcharge payments, driver record requests, and personalized and specialty license plate orders.

The NJMVC encourages residents to visit its website first to take advantage of online services, schedule required appointments for in-person services or driver testing, and find answers to frequently asked questions.
