Off-peak lane closures to begin March 30 near I-78 Toll Bridge

WARREN COUNTY, N.J. — Motorists traveling near the I-78 Toll Bridge can expect daytime lane closures beginning March 30 as part of an upcoming inspection project, officials said.

Lane reductions are scheduled from Monday through Thursday, March 30 through April 2, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., with alternating impacts on eastbound and westbound traffic.

Under the schedule, eastbound lanes heading into New Jersey will be reduced from three lanes to two on March 30, March 31 and April 2. Westbound lanes heading into Pennsylvania will be reduced to two lanes on April 1.

The temporary closures will allow engineering consultants to conduct inspections and evaluations in preparation for a future project involving cleaning, painting and repairs on the I-78 Toll Bridge and nearby approach bridges.

Officials said drivers may experience minor delays and are advised to slow down, use caution and follow posted signage while traveling through the work zone.

The schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, emergencies or other factors.
