One injured after SUV overturns in Sussex County, state police say

MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — A passenger was hospitalized after an SUV crashed and overturned Saturday morning in Sussex County, according to the New Jersey State Police.

State Police spokesman Trooper II Christopher Postorino said troopers responded at approximately 9:58 a.m. to a report of a motor vehicle crash on County Road 650, near milepost 2.5 in Montague Township.

A Toyota SUV was traveling north on the roadway when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to run off the road, strike a telephone pole, and overturn, Postorino said.

The passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was available, Postorino said.
