
Pa. man charged in Phillipsburg stabbing incident
PHILLIPSBURG, N.J. (Warren County) — A 21-year-old Allentown, Pennsylvania, man has been arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing that occurred Sunday night in Phillipsburg, authorities announced Wednesday.
According to police, officers were dispatched around 10 p.m. on June 15 to the area of Schultz Avenue and Green Alley for a report of a physical altercation. When officers arrived, they located a victim sitting in the roadway with a stab wound to the left arm.
An investigation revealed that Darlin Jose MataGuzman was allegedly seen holding a knife during the incident, and that his vehicle was present at the scene. A child was found inside the vehicle at the time of the altercation, police said.
MataGuzman was taken into custody June 17 in Allentown and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, all crimes of the third degree.
The Phillipsburg Police Department conducted the investigation with assistance from the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allentown Police Department.
