Pedestrian struck and killed by Vehicle on Route 10 in Morris County

RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A fatal pedestrian collision occurred Friday night in Randolph Township, according to Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Public Information Officer Meghan Knab.

The incident took place on November 29 at approximately 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Route 10 and Center Grove Road, Knab said.

A Honda HRV traveling eastbound on Route 10 struck a pedestrian at the intersection. The victim, identified as Maria Lorena Orellana-Valverde, 18, of Randolph Township, was transported to Morristown Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries, Knab reported.

The driver of the Honda, a single occupant, remained at the scene following the incident, Knab said.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and Randolph Police Department are continuing to investigate. No further details have been released at this time.
