Phillipsburg police investigate shooting on South Main Street

PHILLIPSBURG, N.J. (Warren County) — Police in Phillipsburg are investigating a shooting reported late Thursday on the 600 block of South Main Street, authorities said.

In a statement posted on the Phillipsburg Police Department’s Facebook page at about 9:15 p.m., officials said the scene was secured and that there were no reports of injuries at that time.

Police asked the public to avoid the area while officers conduct what they described as an intensive and thorough investigation.

Anyone with information related to the incident is urged to contact the Phillipsburg Police Department at (908) 835-2002.

No additional details were immediately released.
