Phillipsburg police welcome 3 new officers, announce promotions of 2 veteran members
PHILLIPSBURG, N.J. (Warren County) — The Phillipsburg Police Department has welcomed three new police officers following their graduation from the Mercer County Police Academy and announced the promotions of two veteran members of the department.
Officer Zachary Gara, Officer Kyle Santini and Officer Liam Slack graduated from the Mercer County Police Academy on July 16, completing months of academic, physical and practical training before beginning their law enforcement careers with the department.
The department said the new officers will serve the Phillipsburg and neighboring Alpha communities.
The department also announced the promotion of Detective Lt. Marc Mecca to the rank of patrol captain and Sgt. Chris Mecca to the rank of lieutenant.
Police said the promotions recognize the officers’ years of service, leadership, professionalism and continued commitment to the department and the communities it serves.
The department congratulated Officers Gara, Santini and Slack on their graduation and welcomed them to the Phillipsburg Police Department, while also recognizing Capt. Marc Mecca and Lt. Chris Mecca on their promotions and wishing them continued success in their new roles.
