WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Adam Sandler was spotted filming “Happy Gilmore 2” at a Morris County golf center Tuesday.
Sandler and along with Judd Apatow, who is an American director, producer, screenwriter and comedian, best known for his work in comedy films, were at the Farmview Golf Center on East Avenue in Washington Township.
East Avenue was closed between Mountain Avenue and Route 46 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the filming.
Crowds gathered along East Avenue as Sandler walked by and greeted spectators.
“We were fortunate to host the filming of Happy Gilmore 2 in town yesterday at the Farmview golf center on East Avenue. Adam Sandler was great, stopping to say hello to people that had come by midday and all of the production staff was very kind in letting me hang out on the set. I was glad to meet Steve and the Farmview Golf staff,” Washington Township Mayor Matt Murello said. “It was a very large production with hundreds of cast, crew and support staff and everyone in Washington Township worked hard to pull this off with short notice. Thank you to Netflix for showcasing a part of our beautiful town, and also thank you to all the township staff, the Washington Township Police Department , Hackettstown Police Department, our first responders and the Target Store Washington-Twp, which hosted the equipment and personnel tucks,”
“Happy Gilmore 2” – a sequel to Adam Sandler’s 1996 hit movie – will be released on Netflix.
According to IMDB, Sandler will reprise his role as Happy Gilmore with Christopher McDonald starring as Shooter McGavin, along with Travis Kelce, and Julie Brown. Scenes are being shot throughout New Jersey, including locations in Bergen, Essex , Morris, Somerset and Monmouth counties.
“I can’t wait to see the scene in the final product of Happy Gilmore 2,” Murello said.
