Pickup truck crashes through detached garage, strikes house along Route 46 in Warren County

KNOWLTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A pickup truck crashed into and through a detached garage before striking a house along Route 46 in Knowlton Township Saturday night.

On February 15 at 8:25 p.m., Knowlton Township Fire and Rescue Company responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving both a garage and a house on Route 46.

Upon arrival, crews found that a pickup truck traveling eastbound on Route 46 had lost control after hitting ice and snow on the shoulder. The truck then traveled into and through a detached garage before striking the house, where it came to a stop.

The corner of the home sustained significant damage to the exterior.

Fire crews immediately assessed the occupants of the house and evaluated the stability and safety of the structure. EMS checked the occupants of the truck, one of whom was transported to a local hospital.

Crews remained on scene until the vehicle was removed. The township building inspector was notified, and the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) is handling the investigation.
