Police: Man accused of driving drunk to station to file report in Morris County

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after he went to Washington Township police headquarters to report an unrelated matter, according to police.

Police said officers were speaking with the man and gathering information about the matter when they developed information that led them to determine he had operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

The man, whose identity was not released, was taken into custody and processed.

He was later released to a responsible adult in accordance with John’s Law, police said.
