Police seek assistance in hit-and-run crash in Sussex County

UPDATE: Police say on Sept. 14, the vehicle in question has been located.

HOPATCONG BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – The Hopatcong Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance regarding a hit-and-run crash.

On Friday, Sept. 13, at around 7:41 p.m., in the area of 130 Dupont Avenue, a vehicle illegally passed another vehicle over the double yellow, hitting a moving vehicle and three parked cars, police said.

The involved vehicle is suspected to be a blue sedan with heavy front-end damage and missing part of the passenger side front bumper. It was last seen traveling down Dupont Avenue towards Crescent Road, police said.

Police are asking all residents of Dupont Avenue to check their surveillance cameras for a blue Mazda-type vehicle.
