Police seek public’s help identifying suspect in Morris County bike theft

MORRIS PLAINS BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — The Morris Plains Police Department is investigating a reported bicycle theft and is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest connected to the case.

According to police, the incident occurred on Thursday, June 5, in the rear parking lot of Uncle Giuseppe’s, located at 1711 Route 10 in Morris Plains Borough.

Authorities say the driver of a green Honda Pilot, believed to be a model between 2003 and 2008, took an employee’s unlocked TREK bicycle, placed it in the back of the vehicle, and drove off without the employee’s knowledge.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to contact the Morris County Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers at copcall.org, by calling 973-COP-CALL, or through the free “P3 Tips” mobile app.

Tipsters can remain anonymous, and information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
