Senator Steinhardt applauds NJDOT fund grant for Phillipsburg
PHILLIPSBURG, NJ (Warren County) – Phillipsburg received a Local Transportation Project Fund Grant for pedestrian and traffic safety on Roseberry Street, according to Senator Doug Steinhardt (R-23).
“I had the pleasure of meeting with top local officials in the Spring to address transportation safety and congestion concerns with DOT representatives. We had a very productive meeting, and I am pleased to know that Phillipsburg will be receiving money to address these critical issues. I am thankful for Commissioner Diane Guiterrez-Scaccetti’s partnership and all of her work in helping secure this investment,” Steinhardt said.
In April Senator Steinhardt toured the district with local officials and the New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner to address some of the local road projects that required State assistance. The group studied aging infrastructure and intersections to identify solutions for emerging traffic problems.
The NJDOT awarded a grant of $375,000 to Phillipsburg for the purpose of pedestrian and traffic safety.
“I am grateful to NJDOT Commissioner Guiterrez-Scaccetti and Senator Steinhardt for touring Phillipsburg last April, for hearing my concerns regarding pedestrian and traffic safety, and for delivering on her promise to take a serious look at our needs,” said Piazza. “This is great news for the town of Phillipsburg,” Phillipsburg Councilman Randy Piazza Jr. said.
