Senior Day set for Aug. 7 at New Jersey State Fair in Sussex County

AUGUSTA, N.J. (Sussex County) — The Sussex County Board of County Commissioners, Department of Health and Human Services, and Division of Senior Services will host Senior Day at the New Jersey State Fair on Thursday, Aug. 7, from noon to 3 p.m. under the Planet Networks Performing Arts Tent at the Sussex County Fairgrounds.

This year’s celebration, themed “Surf’s Up!,” will feature summer and beach music spun by a DJ, light refreshments, door prizes, and information tables from vendors offering services and resources for seniors. Attendees will also receive promotional giveaways.

A highlight of the afternoon will be the announcement of the Sussex County Senior of the Year, along with recognition of all nominated individuals. Additionally, Skylands Ride bus drivers will be honored for their safe driving service.

The event is sponsored by Homestead Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Homes, Newton Medical Center, and United Methodist Communities at Bristol Glen.
