Sheriff touts successful National Night Out in Clinton Township

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Clinton Township residents, neighbors, and first responders came together Tuesday evening for the township’s annual National Night Out at Bundt Park, an event focused on connection, safety, and fun.

Hosted in collaboration with the Clinton Township Police Department, Clinton Township Fire Department, South Branch Emergency Services, Lebanon Fire Company, and the Community Emergency Response Team, the event featured fire engines, rescue squad apparatus, games, music, food, specialized units, and free services such as Child ID cards and car seat safety checks.

Sheriff Fred Brown reported that 106 Child ID cards have been issued so far in 2025, including those processed at Tuesday’s event, building on last year’s total of more than 300 IDs.

“Events like National Night Out remind us that strong communities are built through trust, engagement, and collaboration,” Brown said. “The turnout was great, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to connect with residents in such a meaningful way.”

The Sheriff’s Office also promoted its ongoing participation in the Project Lifesaver Program, which uses tracking technology to help locate individuals with cognitive conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, or autism who are prone to wandering.

Brown thanked the partnering agencies, volunteers, and attendees, adding that the county looks forward to continuing public safety and outreach programs throughout the year.
