ShopRite celebrates 75th anniversary with two weeks of special savings

NEW JERSEY — ShopRite is marking its 75th anniversary with two weeks of special promotions, digital deals and discounts at participating stores.

The anniversary celebration is taking place during the sale weeks of Aug. 16 and Aug. 23, with some featured prices ending in .75 to recognize the supermarket brand’s 75-year milestone.

ShopRite was founded in 1951 by a small group of independent New Jersey grocers who were part of the Wakefern Food Corp. cooperative. The supermarket brand has since expanded throughout the region while maintaining its model of locally owned and operated stores.

“For 75 years, ShopRite stores have been family-owned and operated by grocers who live and work in the communities they serve,” said Darren Caudill, Chief Sales Officer of Wakefern Food Corp. “That local connection has always been at the heart of ShopRite — helping families find more value in every shopping trip, supporting neighborhoods and showing up for customers generation after generation. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone by thanking our customers with the savings, service and quality they continue to count on every day.”

During the week of Aug. 16, ShopRite is offering savings on select Bowl & Basket, Paperbird, Well Everyday and Wholesome Pantry products through a digital coupon promotion.

Customers who purchase $75 or more in participating store-brand products can receive $25 off their total purchase. The digital coupon must be downloaded before checkout and can be redeemed from Aug. 16 through Aug. 22.

A three-day anniversary sale is also scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 20, through Saturday, Aug. 22. The promotion will feature prices ending in .75 on items including eggs, produce, pantry staples, snacks, cookies, ice cream and Italian sausage.

The anniversary promotions will continue during the sale week beginning Aug. 23 with a Digital Doorbusters sale featuring 18 digital coupons on select items. Those sale prices will also end in .75.

In addition to the promotions, ShopRite plans to highlight its history through stories, recipes and reflections online, in stores and on its social media channels.

Customers can find additional information and available anniversary offers through ShopRite’s website or mobile app.
