Somerset County man charged after calling 911 twice over beer purchase issue

RARITAN BOROUGH, NJ (Somerset County) – A 24-year-old man from Raritan was charged on Sunday, after allegedly making two 911 calls related to his attempt to purchase beer at a local bar, authorities said.

On Janaury 19, at around 9:04 p.m., Abdellah Snaike dialed 911 after being told by bar staff that the establishment does not sell beer to-go. Officers responded to the call and advised Snaike about the appropriate use of 911 for emergencies only, police said.

However, about 40 minutes later, Snaike called 911 again, once again seeking to purchase beer, police said.

Snaike was charged with creating a false public alarm and was released pending a court appearance, police said.
