Somerset County ticket wins $2 million in Powerball
HILLSBOROUGH TONWSHIP, N.J. (Somerset County) — A Somerset County Powerball player won $2 million in Saturday night’s drawing after matching five white balls and the 2X multiplier, the New Jersey Lottery said Monday. The player matched all numbers except the Powerball.
No ticket nationwide hit the jackpot, which now rises to $875 million, the seventh-largest in Powerball history. The cash value is estimated at $403.6 million for Monday night’s drawing.
Saturday’s winning numbers were 13, 14, 26, 28 and 44. The Powerball was 7, and the Power Play multiplier was 2X.
The $2 million winning ticket was sold at Quick Stop Food Stores, 378 Branch Road in Hillsborough.
Three additional New Jersey tickets—sold in Camden and Union counties—matched four white balls plus the Powerball to win $50,000 each. Those tickets were purchased at:
- Wegmans Food Markets, 2100 Route 70 West, Cherry Hill (Camden County)
- Yogi’s Quick Ship, 121 Greentree Road, Blackwood (Camden County)
- Village Liquors, 1233 Maggie Avenue, Union (Union County)
In Saturday’s Double Play drawing, the winning numbers were 04, 17, 29, 55 and 56, and the Double Play ball was 03. Fourteen New Jersey players matched three white balls and the Double Play ball to win $500 each.
Record jackpots have become increasingly common in Powerball. Five of the game’s 10 largest jackpots have been hit in the past three years. Earlier this year, the jackpot climbed to $1.8 billion, split by winners in Missouri and Texas on Sept. 6.
