Sussex County Community College’s summer musical coming July 19-21

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – Sussex County Community College presents “Alice by Heart,” a touching musical inspired by Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland, with music by Duncan Sheik, Lyrics by Steven Sater, and a book by Steven Sater and Jessie Nelson.

The musical is directed by Alex McCully, with music direction by Dr. Deborah Gianuzzi, choreographed by Kimberly Jackson, stage managed by Jodi Halteman, and produced by Allison Ognibene.

In the rubble of the London Blitz of World War II, Alice’s life is turned upside down. She takes refuge in a tube station, where she confronts grief, loss, and love with the help of her favorite book, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

The show dates are Friday, July 19, at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 20, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, July 21, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general seating and $10 for students, seniors, and the US military. Sussex County College is located at 1 College Hill Road, Newton, NJ 07860.
