Sussex County man accused of sending sexually explicit photos, messages to minor

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A man has been arrested after Byram Township police said he sent sexually explicit pictures and messages to a minor.

On May 12, police received information regarding an adult male who sent sexually explicit photographs and messages to a juvenile, police said.

The man, later identified as Benjamin A. Johnson of Newton, then allegedly asked the juvenile to send sexually explicit photos to him, police said.

An investigation ensued, and with the assistance of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office, Johnson was charged with the endangering the welfare of a child and obscenities to minors, police said.

Johnson was released pending a court appearance, police said.
