Sussex County man charged with theft of transmission in Jefferson Township

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Sussex County man has been charged in connection with the theft of a vehicle transmission from a business in Jefferson Township, police said.

Police responded March 24 to Ackerson Motors on Espanong Road in the Lake Hopatcong section for a reported theft.

The business owner reported the transmission was missing from the front of the building. After reviewing security video, authorities were able to identify a vehicle and a potential suspect, police said.

Further investigation led police to identify the suspect as Enrique Ojeda, 38, of Franklin Borough. He was charged with theft and released on a summons pending a future court date.
