Sussex County Miners debut drone advertising technology at Skylands Stadium

AUGUSTA, N.J. (Sussex County) — The Sussex County Miners have become the first professional baseball organization to use drone-mounted digital advertising screens during a live game, debuting the technology at Skylands Stadium during a May 30 matchup against the Brockton Rox.

The Miners announced a partnership with Alpha Drones USA to introduce the Drone Aerial Advertising Screens system, which uses industrial drones equipped with high-definition digital displays to present sponsor messages and advertisements above the ballpark.

The technology made its debut before fans during the Miners’ game in Augusta, creating illuminated advertising displays visible throughout the stadium.

According to the organizations, the system is designed to provide an alternative to traditional static signage by integrating advertising into the live game presentation.

“This is exactly the kind of forward-thinking entertainment and fan experience we want to bring to Sussex County,” said Vincent Sangemino, General Manager of the Sussex County Miners. “We are constantly looking for ways to create a ballpark atmosphere unlike anything fans have seen before, while also delivering new and impactful opportunities for our sponsors. What Alpha Drones USA has created is truly something people stop and stare at.”

Throughout the game, drones conducted multiple flights carrying sponsor messaging in what officials described as a dynamic, airborne advertising format.

Alpha Drones USA, which operates out of Morristown Municipal Airport and has hubs throughout the country, provides commercial drone services that include aerial advertising, inspections, public safety support, agricultural services, drone light shows and exterior cleaning.

“Partnering with the Sussex County Miners provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the future of live-event advertising in a professional sports setting,” said Kelvin King, Founder and CEO of Alpha Drones USA. “The atmosphere at Skylands Stadium and the organization’s willingness to innovate made this an incredible first deployment for professional baseball.”

The Miners said the drone advertising debut is part of broader efforts to introduce new technologies and fan experiences at Skylands Stadium, including drone shows, interactive promotions and themed entertainment events.
