The Sizzle BBQ closes Sussex County location; Nativa Coffee Bar planned for site
NEWTON, N.J. (Sussex County) — The Sizzle BBQ has permanently closed its Newton location, but the family behind the restaurant is preparing to bring a new concept to the same space.
The restaurant announced the closure of its location at 216 Woodside Ave., thanking customers and others who supported the business over the years.
“From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank all of our friends, customers, and everyone who has supported us throughout the years,” the restaurant said in announcing the closure.
The Sizzle BBQ said its Hackettstown location will remain open and continue serving customers.
Meanwhile, the former Newton restaurant is set to become Nativa Coffee Bar, a new concept from the same family.
“A new name. A new story. The same family and the same passion behind it,” the owners said.
The owners described the change as a new chapter for the family while acknowledging the memories created at The Sizzle BBQ in Newton.
“We’ll miss The Sizzle Newton, but we hope to continue seeing you at The Sizzle BBQ Hackettstown and to welcome you very soon to Nativa Coffee & Bar, right here in Newton,” the restaurant said.
