Tractor-trailer hauling vegetables catches fire on I-78 in Hunterdon County

UNION TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A tractor-trailer hauling vegetables caught fire on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County on Wednesday afternoon, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

At about 12:40 p.m. on Oct. 2, troopers responded to the vehicle fire on I-78 east at milepost 15 in Union Township. Upon arrival, they found the tractor-trailer fully engulfed in flames, Lebron said.

No injuries were reported, Lebron said.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
