Traffic stop in Sussex County leads to arrest of 4 people on drug charges

FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – Four people are facing drug-related charges after police said a traffic stop in Franklin Borough led to their arrests.

On January 15, at around 3:00 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle occupied by Yeltsin Aparicio-Jaramillo, 31, of Lyndhurst, and Maryyury Daniela, 26, Geraldine Yoseph, 28, and Genesis Hernandez, 20, all of Passaic, police said.

During the investigation, officers discovered that the vehicle’s occupants were in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), which had been concealed during a search, police said.

All four were charged with third-degree possession of a Schedule I-IV controlled dangerous substance, and failure to make lawful disposition of CDS to law enforcement. Each were released pending their scheduled  court appearance, in compliance with the New Jersey Bail Reform Act, police said.

The investigation was conducted with the assistance of Hamburg Borough Police Department, the Sussex County Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit, and the New Jersey State Police.
