
Troopers seize over $36M in marijuana, THC, and psilocybin products during traffic stop on I-78 in Warren County
GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) — New Jersey State Police troopers seized more than $36,000,000 worth of marijuana, cannabis/THC products, and psilocybin products during a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 78 in Warren County.
On Tuesday, February 18, the Mobile Safe Freight Unit conducted a commercial vehicle inspection on I-78 East at milepost 6.3 in Greenwich Township, on a tractor-trailer operated by Fnu Attiq Ur-Rahman, 22, of Stockton, CA, state police said.
During the inspection, officers discovered that the tractor-trailer was transporting marijuana. A subsequent search led to the seizure of approximately 8,042.2 pounds of raw hydroponic marijuana, 12,062 pounds of various cannabis/THC products, and 13.4 pounds of psilocybin products. The total weight of the seized contraband amounted to 20,117.6 pounds, state police said.
Both Fnu Attiq Ur-Rahman and Hafeez Rehman Ur, 35, also of Stockton, CA, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute psilocybin mushrooms, and possession of psilocybin mushrooms, state police said.
Both were lodged at the Warren County Correctional Center pending a detention hearing, state police said.
