UPDATE: Missing Hackettstown 16-year-old girl found safe

UPDATE: Lila has been located safely and is now in the care of police, authorities said.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 16-year-old girl.

Hackettstown police said Lila G. Tisseverasinghe was last seen at about 9 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24 at her home in Hackettstown.

She is described as white, 5 feet 1 inch tall, 170 pounds, with brown eyes and dark brown hair. She was last seen wearing a light gray T-shirt and pant set and carrying a red purse, police said.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Hackettstown Police Department at 908-852-3300.
