UPDATE: Tractor-trailer driver injured after losing control, jackknifing on I-80 in Morris County

MOUNT ARLINGTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — A tractor-trailer driver suffered minor injuries Friday morning after losing control of the vehicle and jackknifing on Interstate 80 eastbound in Mount Arlington Borough, according to New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 5:54 a.m. near milepost 29.6, according to New Jersey State Police spokesman Trooper II Christopher Postorino.

Based on a preliminary investigation, a Kenworth tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on I-80 when the driver lost directional control of the vehicle, causing it to jackknife, Postorino said.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment, according to State Police.

The crash prompted the closure of all eastbound lanes of I-80 east of Exit 28 for County Route 631 and U.S. Route 46. All eastbound lanes have since reopened to traffic.

The crash remains under investigation by New Jersey State Police. No additional information was available.
