Update: Wildfire in Morris County remains 90% contained

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Since Saturday, New Jersey Forest Fire Service crews have been actively working to contain the Microwave Wildfire in the Jacobs Road area of Rockaway Township. As of now, the fire remains 90% contained and has burned a total of 77 acres.

Authorities reported that there are currently no structures threatened by the fire, and no evacuations have been necessary. Jacobs Road remains closed as crews continue to monitor the situation.

The Forest Fire Service has deployed hand crews and engines to combat the flames. The cause of the wildfire is still under investigation.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service will not issue any further updates on this incident unless there are significant developments.
